Having joined Fugro in 2015, Chris Arnott currently serves as the Regional Business Line Director Land at Fugro and has committed his time to advancing a shift in the ground risk management sector towards real-time insights and guidance through the application of AI/Supported digitized workflows and innovative acquisition techniques.
Over the years, Chris has been a member and leader of several teams within Fugro. He was instrumental in the company’s model of multiple small nearshore platforms being mobilized from a single large self-propelled jack up, which was a first in 2017 and has since been successfully applied globally. Nonetheless, his most significant accomplishments revolved around preparing Fugro for the future, as the business aimed to assist the sector in moving away from its analog foundations, utilize cutting-edge innovations like AI and ML, and revolutionize how customers not only handle ground risk, but also accelerate and expedite their project life cycles.
His passion for learning earned him the opportunity to manage and lead smaller site investigations almost immediately after graduating from university, adding to his professional experience in project management and leadership at a young age. This was further strengthened when Chris was fortunate enough to be hired for two USD XX billion mega projects, which gave him enormous opportunity for growth.
Aside from his professional expertise, Chris also holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Geology and a PGCert certification in Geotechnical Design and Engineering, both of which in his opinion, offered him a major advantage over other acclaimed courses due to their strong emphasis on industrial readiness and engagement.
